What a gem of a little book! Just back from visiting Angkor myself, I ordered this book because the similar Abrams volume on the Maya had been so wonderful. The text focuses on the early "discoverers" and explorers of the sites and is a delightful read, even if you've read the bigger, more famous tomes. Nice size to tuck into a purse or briefcase if you're on your way to Southeast Asia. The architectural drawings and other illustrations are worth the price alone, but Dagens' text is enlightening, too.
