Angus and Robertson, Sydney, 1918. First Edition. Hardcover (Original Cloth). Very Good Condition/Fair. Illustrator: Hal Gye. Glossary. Illustrated end pages, being the publisher's initials reproduced multiple times in a pale green colour. Colour illustrated frontispiece and title page by Hal Gye; and there are black-and-white full-page illustrations throughout, again by Hal Gye. The original red boards show an illustration of a fence with a bag of potatoes resting against it and scattered potatoes in the foreground. Plaintext dustwrapper with black coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. Poetry that was written at the height of World War I. Rubbing of the back strip edges and of the book corners with a little bumping to the lower rear book corner. Age toning of the text block edges and lighter age toning of the pages. A little sunning of the end pages. Chipping of the dustwrapper corners and back strip edges. The dustwrapper corners are creased and a little rubbed and there are a couple of small tears to the top and bottom rear edge. Sunning and handling marks to the dustwrapper panels and the back strip is quite sunned. There is 1/2 inch tear to the top left hand corner of the rear panel. Foxing is very noticeable to the dustwrapper though not quite so noticeable to the verso. The top dustwrapper covers the original dustwrapper  which is a little foxed and son but otherwise in bad condition. There are holes to both the top dustwrapper and the lower dustwrapper.
