Berlin, Siegismund, 1910. 1st Edition . Hardcover. .. Crown octavo. Pp. (ii), 309, (1) publisher's ad. Plus 9 folding lithographed maps, partly compound, loosely inserted in rear pocket as issued. Two maps are printed in 3 colours. The largest map, measuring ca. 62x68 cm, has a semitransparent overlay printed in blue. Also 3 other maps have such overlays, superimposing troop positions as changed over time (2 maps with double such sheets). Set in Gothic type. HARDCOVER, bound in contemporary cloth-backed marbled boards, with the original printed cover laid down, spine with shelf- and title labels, old institutional stamps and mark. In about fine condition. Rather excellent interior and maps. ~ FIRST EDITION. First volume of the work. 009-8
