Philadelphia: I. Kohler, 1869. Hardcover. Good -. [2], 30 p.: 30 hand-colored woodcuts; 23 cm. Red-brown bubble-grain cloth spine with coral paper over boards printed in black. Title page reproduced on front board within decorative border. Publisher's advertisement for Allgemeine Volks- und Jugend-Schriften on back board. No date of publication. Ignatius Kohler was located at 202 N. 4th St., the address in the imprint, from 1860 to 1879; WorldCat records assign 1869 to this title. Each page contains a hand-colored woodcut with a parable; text is entirely in German. Very scarce. In Good- Condition: cover is heavily finger-soiled; lower edge of back cover dampstained; text block separated from cover; finger soiling throughout; minimal dampstain at lower edge of some leaves; hand-colored woodcuts are clean and bright.
