Folio (31.2 x 24.6 cm). 68 [I-XLIII, XLIVa, XLIVb, XLV-LXVII] mostly double-sized engraved plates. 19th-century cloth with two red morocco labels with gilt title on the spine. Written by the professor of mining, Moritz Ferdinand Gaetzschmann (1800-1895). This is the atlas only. Both the text volume and atlas are rare. Many figures show furnaces, giant drills, and other mining devices. No title page included, probably not issued. Plates XXI-XL show old folds - apparently they were intended for an octavo edition. Library stamp on the front flyleaf recto. Several plates spotted - stronger in a few, or toned, otherwise very good. Not in any major bibliography.
