About This Item
Cirlot's aim in this book is to create a 'centre' of general reference for symbological study by clarifying the unvarying meaning of every symbol. Symbolism was an essential part of the ancient art of the orient and of the medieval tradition in the West. More recently revived in psycho analysis, dream studies, literature and fine art. This second edition incorporates extensive new information added since the original 1962 publication.
An excellent copy. Pages are clean, bright and unmarked with no spots, fading or creases. Cloth boards are tight and clean. DJ unclipped, and is in very good condition with just very minor age-related tanning . All now protected in professional clear removable book wrapper. Extensive bibliography and index, and many B&W illustrations
