Full contemporary calf binding with red spine label, raised spine bands, gilt decorated compartments, edges speckled red, first title page in red and black, (8), 564, 416p. Covers rubbed with chipping to the spine ends, joints good, text block sound with no loosened pages, name of Monsieur Desbois mounted at bottom of title page, ol inscription on front free endpaper. Pages very clean with some worming to the outer margins of the second part, not affecting text. A sound and internally very clean copy.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good. 4to (27.5 cm tall).
