About This Item

Text is clean and unmarked in covers that are intact and without chips, tears, or creases. Spine is not creased. Previous owner's name is on the top outside corner of the half title page. Back cover is very lightly smudged. Top outside corner of page 147 was not properly cut and has a small piece sticking out from the top edge of the text block. From the back cover, " 'The Devil's Horsemen,' based on a wealth of contemporary sources, is an examination of the origins and consequences of this extraordinary campaign. It describes the tactics and training of the finest army the world had ever seen, and tells the story of Subedei Bahadur, the illiterate military genius who brought 20th century warfare to medieval Europe....the author shows how the Mongols...invented starategies and tactics later adopted to devastating effect by Rommel and Patton."
