Berlin: VDA Wirtschaftsunternehmen G.m.b.H., 1935. First edition. Softcover. vg. Quarto. Original pictorial wraps, rear cover in heavy card stock. Unpaginated (80 leaves, printed on recto only). Scarce National Socialist propaganda calendar by the Volksbund für das Deutschtum im Ausland und the Deutschen Ausland-Institut. Both are German cultural organizations that promote German culture and German language worldwide. The organizations were founded years before the Nazi's came to power. In 1933 they were forced into "Gleichschaltung" and the National Socialist's "Führerprinzip. Calendar profusely illustrated with b/w reproductions of photographs depicting German expatriates in Poland, Kanada, South Tirol, Hungary, Danzig, Cameroon, Chile, Spain, Slowenia, Argentina, Austria, America, Luxembourg, Russia, and many other countries. Images also show architecture and some landscapes. Photographs by Hans Retzlaff, Dr. Paul Wolff, Volksdeutscher Bilderdienst, A. Wagraentz, Dr. Meynen, M. Löhrich, Deutscher Jugendverband, H. Jung, Dr. Hartmann, Schalek-Mauritius, B. Kerschner, M. W. Mehner, Dr. Wiegand, M. Nowak, P. Klassen, L. Schraud, E. Hartmann, Dr. Weskamp, C. Kornmann, Dr. Rikli, F. Schäfer, A. Buck, and others. Text in German, gothic script. Complete calendar with all leaves present. Minor staining and creasing on wraps. Overall very good condition. Scarce.
