London: David Nutt, 1886. pp 148 Books one and two of Saint Anselm of Canterbury's Cur Deus Homo? in a fine leather binding by Sotheran & Co of black morocco with raised bands, gilt spine lettering and decoration, all edges gilt, marbled end papers. This handsome volume is in near fine condition, the leather is polished, the gilt decoration bright, a little rubbing to the edges of the spine; the binding is tight, internally fresh, some spotting to the end papers. The armorial bookplate of 'Blackall' is found on the front pastedown along with an ownership inscription of Alfred L Woodard. There are neat annotations in pencil to a few pages.
