About This Item

New York: Bonanza Books, 1956. First Edition. Cloth. Fine/Fine. B&W Photos. 8vo, pumpkin-colored cloth, illustrated with many pages of B&W reproductions of photographs, Mylar-protected pictorial dust jacket, 294 pages. James Horan, a widely-respected Western historian, obtained unprecedented access to sealed Pinkerton Files about several dangerous desperadoes that he exposes here for the first time. Excellent and little known narrative about the Wild West, Pinkerton Detective Agency, and prominent outlaws like Jesse and Frank James, the Youngers, Butch Cassidy, and the huge 400-man Wild Bunch of Wyoming that terrorized three states. SUPERIOR condition: tight, bright, clean in a bright dust jacket. The upper spine has been reinforced with a thin band of nearly invisible transparent tape but with no signs of yellowing or distress.
