About This Item

London and New York: The Studio Publications, 1956. First Edition. Hardcover with Dust Jacket. Very Good+/Very Good. Peter Curl. Small 4to. Pp. 96. Red textured cloth, titles printed in black on the spine. Frontis. black & white photo reproductions of Curl jacket designs on red background. Illustrated throughout with black & white and color reproductions (over 100) and drawings. In the three-color illustrated dust jacket, unclipped (25s net). Spine ends and back upper corner bumped, dent in back fore edge. Jacket edges just a trifle rubbed. A bright copy. Practical, business and technical aspects of this niche of commercial art are covered with plenty of examples from the author and other mid-century designers, mostly British. An image of the dust jacket is featured in Martin Salisbury's The Illustrated Dust Jacket, p. 8. The dust jacket is now preserved in a removable clear archival sleeve.
