A writer of both fiction, poetry and non-fiction, Goldsmith's other works include his celebrated novel, 'The Vicar of Wakefield', as well as biographical and historical works such as 'The Life of Richard Nash', 'Account of the Augustan Age in England', and 'The History of England, from the Earliest Times to the Death of George II'.Undated; dated from copies held on Jisc. Illustrated by William Lee Hankey, a British painter and illustrator.With a contemporary gift inscription reading, 'Dearest Marie with love from Noons, Xmas 1911'.A new edition, illustrated with forty plates in colour, as well as in-text decorations. Collated, complete. In the publisher's original full cloth binding. Externally a trifle worn, with wear to the head and tail of the spine. Joints are worn, and a few marks to the boards, with the extremities bumped. Gift inscription to the verso of the front blank. Internally, generally firmly bound; noticeable strain to the front hinge at page 4. Pages are spotted throughout. Good

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
