Reviews

On Apr 2 2020, a reader said:
On the blazing Arizona sands--man against man...gun against gun. This is the quote from the front of the book, which I have in my hand as I write this, and fully dipicts the action and character of this book. William MacLeod Raine, born in London in 1871, migrated to the United States when 11 years old to live on the ranch owned by his father, so he knew the men and nature of the land of which he wrote. This is a tale of revenge, of one man's passionate hatred of another, and when that man is found dead, Matt Stark is branded a killer and murderer. And under anyother circumstances he would have been glad to take the credit. But to prove he was not a killer by ambush he had to find the real killer himself. This is a strange tale one will not long forget which I recommend you read. William Raine deserves his place among the "Biggies" of western literature, right along side of Zane Grey, Ernest Haycox, Louis L'Amour and Elmer Kelton.
