Sydney: Angus & Robertson. 1935. 7th impr., octavo, original cloth boards, endpaper maps, glossary, pp 388, boards marked, small scorch mark on the margin of several pages, good condition. An Australian soldier's World War I diary (the original in the War Memorial Library, Canberra). Idriess was wounded during his tour of duty, which included time in Palestine, Sinai, and Turkey. At Gallipoli he served as spotter for Billy Sing, a famous sniper for the Australian Imperial Force. 7th Impression. Boards.
