About This Item
London (Londra): Guglielmo Meyer, 1750. 2nd. Very Good. An early work describing the excavations and early archaeology found at Herculaneum in the early-mid 18th century. Containing detail description and reproductions of etchings and plaques found at the sight. Text in Italian. In original vellum over flexible boards, somewhat stiffened. Title written in script along the spine. General markings to covers, rounded corners, and very slightly cocked; but all holding strong and remains well bound. Ex-Libris inside front cover, inscription from early 20th century owner on ffep, tear on ffep. Interior is evenly, but lightly, toned with minimal marks or spots in text. An excellent and fascinating book.
