"To relieve the tedium of descriptive ornithology Audubon introduced articles of a general nature into his Biographies, and called them 'Episodes', or 'Delineations of American Scenery and Character, one such following every five articles which described the species of birds depicted in a corresponding part of his plates. These off-hand sketches mainly relate to events between 1808 and 1834, and as sidelights on pioneer life in America, particularly of the Ohio and Mississippi Vallies." from the Introduction. Inked name on half-tittle. Only the slightest wear, else, Pristine. Clean, tight and strong binding with no highlighting or marginalia.
