This spy novel was described by John Le Carre as being more autobiographical than some of his previous works; it follows an undercover mission undertaken by British and American intelligence forces in Gibraltar.John le Carré (1931-2020) was a British author of thrillers and espionage novels, having drawn from personal experience working for MI5 and MI6 in the 1950s and 1960s. His most popular works include 'The Spy Who Came In from the Cold', 'The Night Manager' and 'Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy'.This is a first edition. In the publisher's original full cloth binding, with an unclipped dust wrapper. Externally lovely. Dust wrapper is in excellent condition, with minor wear only and slight rubbing to the title of the spine. Internally firmly bound, pages are bright and clean. Fine
Synopsis
A counter-terrorist operation, codenamed Wildlife , is being mounted on the British crown colony of Gibraltar. Its purpose: to capture and abduct a high-value jihadist arms buyer. Its authors: an ambitious Foreign Office Minister, a private defense contractor who is also his bosom friend, and a shady American CIA operative of the evangelical far-right.
