Author business card laid in. 211 pp 8vo. This is a WWII story that is part thriller, part love story by his mother, and part coming-of-age struggle by the author. LT. Conrad John Netting III was an Army Air Corps fighter pilot who was shot down by German forces after strafing a convoy headed to a small town in France. He died saving the town but leaving his wife, 1-month old child, and the town of Saint-Michel-des-Ardaines in grief and loss until the ends were tied together in 2004. A clean near pristine copy.
