About This Item

New York: Situationist International [Frontier Press?], 1970. Very good plus.. Early reprint of a work by Debord first published in INTERNATIONALE SITUATIONNISTE #10 (though uncredited to his name), offering a situationist analysis of the 1965 Watts riots in Los Angeles. One of several early reprints of the essay, as is common with early S.I. material; this one bearing close resemblance to the ca. 1970 Frontier Press edition, but the publisher is listed here as Situationist International. "Overall, the American negores can rest assured that, if they keep quiet, their survival is guaranteed... But simply because they are behind in the process of intensification of socially organized survival, the blacks present problems of life, and what they demand is not to survive but to live. 8.5'' x 5.5''. Saddle-stapled pamphlet. Early pencil notation to upper-left corner of front wrapper. Else clean, bright, sharp inside and out. 10 pages.
