Walter Colton, U.S. N and author of Ship and Shore. 408 pafges, frontispipece of Stockton with tissue guard and map present, 4 of 5 tinted lithographs present, missing Honolulu, all black and white illustrations present, previous owner name and date on free page, light foxing, list of Barnes books on front pastedown and first free page, period black blind stamped boards, gilt illustration of ship on front board very clear as well as titles on spine, head and heel of spine show some fraying as well as all 4 corners and some edge wear, binding sound and tight hinges. A very preentable copy. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
