Romae [Rome]: Apud Typographos Camarales, 1601. 4to, pp. [xvi], 227, [37]. Title-page printed in red and black. Contemporary limp vellum, spine titled in ink. Some scattered foxing and toning, marginal dampmark to indices. Vellum ruckled and soiled, front flyleaf excised, section of rear flyleaf torn away, splitting at gutter between signatures F and G with one cord holding. ‘Library of The Catholic Club’ labels to title-page and foot of spine, remnants of bookplate to pastedown. A record of the decisions of the highest Papal court of appeal, by Cardinal Marcello Crescenzi (1500-1552), who was made auditor of the court in 1525. Established in 1957, McNaughtan's Bookshop is the oldest surviving secondhand and antiquarian bookshop in Scotland. Located in the basement of a listed 1820s tenement building at the top of Edinburgh's Leith Walk, we are the only open shop in Edinburgh holding membership of the Antiquarian Booksellers Association.
