New York: Knopf, 1934. First novel by the mysterious Mr. Traven, in the scarce First Edition (stated First Printing). Translated by Traven from the original German. This is a Very Good (Minus) copy. Black cloth with blindstamped front cover and gilt lettering on the spine. Shows some light fraying at the tips. A bit loose; the rear gutter is splitting but holding. Previous-owner inscription on the FFEP; a newspaper clipping from 1934 has been attached to the front pastedown, with a resulting offset to the FFEP. No dustjacket; in an archival plastic protector. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. First Edition.. Hard Cover. Very Good Minus/No Jacket.
