About This Item
Toronto: Collins, (1941). First Canadian edition. (September, 1941 on copyright page. Preceeds UK edition. Octavo, yellow cloth, pp. 364. Large patch of adhesive residue and tiny bookseller's label on front free endpaper, else very good in a used American issue (Little, Brown and Company) dust jacket. My speculation is that this jacket was used before a Canadian jacket was available. Dust jacket is price-clipped, with loss to spine ends and corner tips. There are some short tears and the jacket is internally mended/re-inforced with tape. The red lettering is fbefore a Canadian jacket, if any, was printed. Original bookmark with a list of Jonathan Royal's guests, published as an integral but detachable portion of the front dust jacket flap, is laid into the book. Scarce Canadian edition. .
