SIGNED by the Author on the title page, 8vo, brown cloth with gold lettering on spine, archival mylar-protected photographic dust jacket (unclipped) by Ken Leeder, 192 pages. Award-winning Michael Pearce (born 1933) was raised in the Anglo-Egyptian Sudan and has had a great range of experience ever since. His first novel, The Mamur Zapt and the Return of the Carpet (1988) was the start of the "Mamur Zapt" series of mysteries. He has also published "A Dead Man in..." mysteries, set in before the First World War which feature Sandor Seymour, an officer of Scotland Yard's Special Branch who ideals with crimes affecting the British diplomatic service. EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION in all respects. Virtually As New. Constable doesn't indicate printings with a number line or otherwise. No remainder markings.
Synopsis
Michael Pearce was raised in Anglo-Egyptian Sudan, trained as a Russian interpreter, and had an academic career in England. He now lives in London.
