About This Item
New York: Grosset & Dunlap, 1939. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. The interior of the book is clean and tight, with no marks or wear. The burgundy covers are fresh, with minor wear at edges and corners. The gilt spine lettering and decoration are still bright. The dust jacket is also in very good conditon, with light edgewear, and several short tears. The attached scan gives a better idea of condition. Summary: If, when he died, Jan Wyndham's father had left her any money, it is highly improbable that she would ever have considered going out to South Africa to marry Hugh Stafford. Penniless, she made her choice and laughed at destiny. But destiny laughed back when Jan met on the boat the one man who had won her heart".
