About This Item

[San Francisco: Taylor, Nash and Taylor (?), 1915] . . One holding only in OCLC (NYPL) Poem by Edward Robeson Taylor, no relation to the publishers of this piece celebrating the opening of the PanamaÐPacific International Exposition in San Francisco. It is unclear whether or not Nash was with the Taylor brothers at this time; his partnership with them ceased in 1915. Edward Robeson Taylor had been mayor of San Francisco 1907-1910, being 68 he was, and still is, the oldest man to be appointed mayor. Copy 1: On bright orange handmade paper with floral repeating decoration printed in green, double rules are dark brown. Visually very appealing. Small stain in upper left quadrant. Copy 2. On buff handmade paper, but otherwise the same as Copy 1.

Synopsis

Lord Arthur Savile's Crime is a masterpiece of polished cynicism, in which poison, explosive clocks and finally murder forerun married bliss. Two of Oscar Wilde's best-loved stories for children are also included, together with The Canteville Ghost and The Portrait of MR. W.H., a brilliant piece of scholarly detection.
