Hardback, 1941, first edition, published by Collins, London, 288 pages.
Octavo/8vo, measures around 8 3/4" by 6" by 1 1/8". No dust jacket. Purple cloth binding, faded gilt lettering to spine. A little marking and scuffing to binding but quite clean and colouring still vivid. Signs of wear, a little rubbing at edges and on hinges. Slightly bumped corners. Book has slight forward tilt. Binding reasonably firm though some strain and a little cracking near front inner hinge and elsewhere in textblock. Page edges a little browned, scuffed and a bit marked but reasonably clean. Lower page edges deckled. Map endpapers, previous owner bookplate to front free endpaper. Page surfaces quite clean, no underlining, marginalia, etc. See pictures for further information.
