Warner Books, 1987. First Edition. Hardcover. Very good/Very good. First edition with "First printing: May 1987" stated on copyright page. Pages are unmarked with slight browning around edges. Small coffee stain in margin of p 77 and light soiling at bottom of fore-edge of text block. Binding is firm. Boards are lightly faded around edges with a couple small bumps on bottom edges. Small liquid mark on front board near fore-edge. Gilt lettering on spine is scuffed in a few spots but still fully legible. Dust jacket is browning along inside edges and down spine. One closed tear at top of back gutter along with some light creasing along top edge. Otherwise very light edgewear.
Synopsis
In Dawn , the first of the Xenogenesis Series , later retitled Lilith's Brood , Lilith Iyapo awakens after the destruction of Earth and centuries of sleep aboard a spacecraft piloted by the Oankali. After learning all they could about Earth and the human race, the Oankali plan to reestablish life on the planet by cross-breeding with humans. They see humans as intelligent beings but cursed with the fatal flaw of hierarchy, which the cross-breeding will resolve.
