SIGNED by the Author on the title page, 8vo, yellow gold cloth with irridescent blue lettering on spine, archival mylar-protected pictorial dust jacket (unclipped) with stenciled lettering over Japanese-&-Hawaiian colorful images & interior artwork by Michael Kellner, blue endpapers with gold embossed tropical island scene, 310 pages. Lono Waiwaiole was born in San Francisco. He is half Hawaiian, a quarter Italian and a quarter something his family refers to as "Pennsylvania Dutch." Lono teaches social studies and English in Portland, Oregon. He won an Anthony Award for Best First Novel (2004) with Wiley's Lament. DARK PARADISE deals with the dangerous meth trade in Hawaii and struggles between Mexican Cartels and Japanese entrenched crime bosses. EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION in all respects! No remainder marks.
