London: George Bell & Sons, 1889 Book. Fair. Hardcover. xxxi, [i], 456 pages + 12 plates. 24 page publisher's catalogue bound in at the rear. In the original cloth binding, spine and edges browned. Cloth torn along the edges of the spine and at the head and foot also. Binding splitting along the inner hinges, so now a bit loose in the binding. Modern ink owner's name to the front free end paper, also a pencil number. Small sticker seems to have been removed from the front pastedown. Older ink name to the half title page. The plate for page 119 is used as the frontispiece. Ink smudge to the upper margin of the frontispiece..
