I have been brought up with this book, I can't praise it highly enough. It is just what you need if you are looking for the starting blocks of comforting home cooking, be it cakes, bread, stew, biscuits, pies, jams or sauces.Due to the age of the book some of the recipes are a touch heavy for todays tastes, but a bit of what you fancy does you good, and you can't knock the taste of real food.Enjoy.
