F (All bindings have substantial wear, with boards separated from book blocks; ex-art library with library personalized binding and not publisher's original binding; bookplates and few library marks; pages are fairly clean; a reading copy only or a candidate for rebinding.). 3 vols. Gray boards with brown leather on spine & corners, gilt letters on spine, total 1708 pp. The full run of all 3 volumes and years of this publication. Each volume includes an index at the rear. Articles are text with no illustrations, gleaned from periodicals from England, France, and Germany, and translated into English for an American audience. These were the early days of public image-making by using Louis-Jaque-Mande Daguerre's process. This copy of the set is for reading only or could be rebound. Individual volumes can be difficult to find.
