William And Robert Chambers, 1843. Half-Leather. Fair. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. Two volumes, brown half-leather covers, blue cloth boards, beaded pattern to spine, dark brown background to title and volume number on spines, embossed gilt lettering bright. Volume I: List of illustrations, contents beginning with "Anglo-Saxon Writers to Matthew Prior," double-column format, 672 pages. Light brown and stiff pages, light foxing to end papers. Slight separation between table of contents page and first page along spine, spine between reverse of final end paper and inside back cover. Volume II: published, 1844. Contents from Richard Savage to "Writers in Divinity. (Page loose but in place.) 717 pages, final bottom tip creased. Creased at top tips on pages 143-152. Tips and spines badly worn, rubbed cloth. Fair set.
