Book #5 (of 17 total) in the author's series featuring Detective-Superintendent Tom Pollard & his assistant, Sergeant Gregory Toye of Scotland Yard. This is the First British Edition, First Printing, from 1972, SIGNED by the AUTHOR (her name only) on title page. Hardcover 8vo has deep violet cloth-covered boards titled in gilt to spine. Condition is Near Fine: very clean, binding straight & strong, pages moderately tanned, heavier around all edges, commensurate with age, but completely unmarked. Downgraded solely due to foxing to all outside page edges. The unclipped DJ is Fine, virtually flawless save for a tad of toning/tanning; nicely protected in new mylar cover free!
