Signed with short inscription by author on front free endpaper. "The warm and funny truth about life in a retail store...Here is a happy book about happy people. It's about a book store, but it could be any business - and you're probably in it, on both sides of the counter!" (dust jacket). Lewis Meyer (1913-1995) was born in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. For sixty years, Meyer was a Tulsa institution as an author, bookstore owner, and book reviewer. His television program, "The Lewis Meyer Bookshelf", ran on KOTV for 42 years (Tulsa Historical Society).
