A CURTAIN OF GREEN includes Welty's first-published and most famous story, "Death of a Traveling Salesman," as well as the much-anthologized "A Worn Path" and fifteen other stories "where external act and the internal voiceless life of the imagination almost meet and mingle on the mysterious threshold between dream and waking" (Porter). An attractive copy. 8'' x 5.5''. Original orange cloth stamped in white and green. In original unclipped ($2.50) dust jacket. 285, [1] pages. Light edgewear to boards, offsetting to endpapers. Scuffing and minor chipping to jacket edges, faint soil to rear panel, a few small closed tears with tape repairs to verso. Sunning to spine. Overall, sound.
