Fascinating collection of remarkable details found in mid-Victorian London . . . extending back for 19 centuries. An Excellent reference for Dickensians and lovers of London, Dickens and novelists, Sherlockians, and those fond of curiosa,. Arranged alphabetically by subject. First Edition appeared in 1855. Solid copy with moderate wear to leather; slight weakening to gutters/hinges though they're holding quite well; uniform lmoderate age-toning to pages; the occasional speck or stain. Bookplate award for "Class I, 3rd Prize) on front pastedown.
