The book is ion near fine condition, the jacket shows some rubbing at the top right corner and the adjacent spine with a very short closed tear. First printing, no others noted. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Hard Cover. Rudolf Tesnohlidek's novel Lika Bystrouka (Vixen Sharp Ears) appeared in serial form in the Czech newspaper Lidové noviny between 7 April and 23 June 1920. It was published as a book in 1921, won a state prize, achieved lasting popularity, and has been in print in Czech ever since. This translation, The Cunning Little Vixen, is its first publication in another language. Sendak also designed an acclaimed opera based on the original novel.
