Portugall: Publicada Pelo Bacarele. Very Good with no dust jacket. 1917. Leather. B/w; Bound in full brown and decorated leather with gilt spine. Afonso, King of Portugal. Sound and VG but leaves have occasional speckling foxed spots. B/W plates with tissue covers. Title page is dated 1505. But appears to be the later 1917 signed printing. Red and black Portuguese text. Apparently chroicles, "1111 6 December 1185) , also called Afonso Henriques, nicknamed the Conqueror (Portuguese: O Conquistador) , the Founder (O Fundador) or the Great[citation needed] (O Grande) by the Portuguese, and El-Bortukali ([in Arabic ] "the Portuguese") and Ibn-Arrink or Ibn Arrinq ([in Arabic ] "son of Henry", "Henriques") by the Moors whom he fought, was the first king of Portugal." Courtesy of Wikipedia. Colophon has a penciled date of 1918. A difficult work to locate. Signed on the second blankas well as the limitation page. .
