Early edition of The Crofton Boys by Harriet Martineau in half crushed morocco binding. A lovely Victorian boys novel, illustrated with a colour plate as the frontispiece. Undated, dated through Jisc. Harriet Martineau was an English social theorist and widely considered the first female sociologist.Prior owner's book plate to the first free endpaper. In half crushed morocco binding. Externally, smart. There is some bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. There is some rubbing to the leather in these areas. There are some light marks to the front board. Prior owner's book plate to the first free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean with the occasional spot. Very Good
