He was an outstanding and vicious member of the Thirty Tyrants. He also became a contemporary of Socrates, a piece of information that did not ingratiate Socrates to the Athenian community.Critias was commented during his time for his dramaturgical, elegies and literary works. A little, the same as Sextus Empiricus, thought that Critias indited the Sisyphus portion; others, nevertheless, ascribe it to Euripides. His only famous tragedy is Peirithous, of which only a singular 42-line portion existed.
