Stated first edition w. "1929" printed on title page. Black cloth over boards, title and Crime Club logo stamped in red onto upper board and spine, 12mo (7-7/16 inches tall), pp. [6], 312, [1 - ads, 1 - blank]. Volume with wear and fading to boards, a bump to upper corner of spine (w. matching small chip from DJ), ffep neatly excised, toning and a few minor stains to text block. Price-intact DJ with light soil and creasing along top edge, fading to spine panel w. red text barely visible, shallow chips at head of spine w. an 1-1/2 inch closed tear at top inner corner of back panel near spine. A tough Crime Club jacket to find in decent condition. Danger from the "Yellow Peril" and the "Diabolically cruel and diabolically clever" head of a dope-smuggling ring keeps Scotland Yard busy in this early Crime Club mystery.
