About This Item
New York: Grosset & Dunlap, 1971. Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. The interior of the book is clean and tight, with just a few signs of previous use. The top of the text block has darkened slightly. The illustrated covers are fresh, with light wear at edges and corners. A nice, tidy copy. Note that this edition was not issued with a dust jacket. Synopsis: Buford Hagen, discharged from the army after being injured in Viet Nam, returns to his family in Ashley North Carolina where he is given $20,000 and a year's time to prove he can make more money by racing automobiles than by accepting his half of an inherited business.
