Limp leather covers with gilt design and lettering, ribbon marker, top edge gilt. Extremities worn, particularly at spine ends, previous owner's inscription at front endpaper, backstrip slightly darkened, else G+. The classic story by Elizabeth Gaskell dealing with the life of the peaceful little English village of Cranford, inhabited chiefly by old ladies who practice elegant economy and a quaint social decorum under the leadership of the Honorable Mrs. Jamieson.
