About This Item
Toronto: William Briggs Book. Illus. by Leslie L. Benson. Very Good. Hardcover. 1st Canadian edition.. Small octavo. No date [1918]. According to IMDb, Macfarlane was a railroad clerk, pastor and an actor before becoming a writer. Unable to come to grips with his failing health, he shot himself on the steps of the San Francisco morgue. Far be it from me to argue with IMDb. Red cloth w/yellow bell illustration/black lettering to front cover, black spine lettering, 458 pages. Light wear to corners/spine ends, lightly dusted/tanned edges, small bookseller's tag to bottom of rear pastedown, in dust jacket w/light edgewear, mild chipping, a bit of scuffing, impressions, faint soil, moderate wear to folds. A nice copy of a scarce edition seldom found in a dust jacket..
