Early quarter red morocco, bands, gilt stamping, marbled paper over boards; edges rubbed, but generally handsome. Ownership signature of Boya Buarque [?], 1908; fcofosi [?] Duarte, with title inscribed to Duarte from unknown person. Comte is sometimes regarded as the first philosopher of science in the modern sense of the term.
