Author was an advocate of sexual freedom for women, writing under the pseudonym George sand. Originally published 1846 in France. Translated from the French by Fayette Robinson. First blank page has a picture glued in of Lauth Sand, the granddaughter of George Sand. The inside cover has the name and address of a prior owner, and the initials of another owner in 1924. Some foxing of the upper and lower edges of the spine. Pages are clean and unmarked. The top of the page edges are gold. See pictures.
