Paris, London, Berlin, New York: Goupil & Comp, 1840 approx.. Hardcover. Very Good. Hand coloured lithographed plates (25) heightened with gum printed one side of leaf only.. Large octavo blindstamped pebbled navy cloth gilt titled to cover, lower cover with coat of arms gilt (rubbed/tips slightly bumped). Title page lithographed in red and blue with gilt text & decoration and silver Swiss cross + 25 pages of plates printed on light card stock on beige ground. A few plates with minor foxing & minor dusting to margins, the front free endpaper is loose and both endpapers are oxidized to the outer edges. Inscription to free endpaper, Mary Jane Bruce Goode, A Present from Mr. Butcher April 2nd 1869. *Costumed figures and paler background beautifully hand coloured (Colas 2839).
