London: Editions Poetry, 1946. First U.K. Edition, First Printing. Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good. Turquoise cloth, title in gilt to spine, 12mo (7 - 9/16 inches tall), pp. 351, foot of text block untrimmed. Volume with spine ends softened and a slight bump to top corner. DJ with touch of toning to spine and top edge, a few shallow chips and 2 closed tears at top of front panel, pencil notation to front flap. The third edition overall, preceded by two New Directions printings. "British bookseller Allan Smith, who has written at length on the Poetry Editions imprint, notes that publication dates listed on imprint pages are unreliable... actual publication did not occur until February 1946."
